A two week adventure for Ladies only!
Day 1 (4/2/11):Your journey begins here in Nairobi. Where we pick you up and give you the first taste of Kenya, a visit to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant orphanage. Making our way to the Sandai Farm we will be driving through the rich green Kikuyu land, passing pineapple and banana plantations as well as coffee farms. Past Nyeri our quiet farm awaits us with dinner and a warm cosy bed for a good night’s sleep. Day 2 (4/3/11): The Sandai Farm lies between the Aberdare Range and Mt. Kenya. Today we will acclimatize through an adventurous nature walk together. If you wish to go horse riding you can do so at this point. Lunch and Dinner will be served on the farm. Accommodation will also be on Sandai. Day 3 (4/4/11): After a long relaxing breakfast we will go on safari to Solio Ranch which is a wildlife reservation famous for its black and white rhinos. And you will commonly encounter other animals such as Giraffes, Zebra, Buffalos and Gazelles. For a real feel of Africa we will enjoy a romantic/splendid picnic out in the open bush with a breath-taking view of the scenery. Once again we will conclude the day onSandai. Day 4 (4/5/11): Today we will visit a women’s group that was founded in close collaboration with the Sandai Farm after the extreme drought in 2009, during this time of desperate need we assisted with food distribution. Now the group has evolved into a development program emphasizing on establishing alternative income possibilities and preventing the recurrence of the community solely relying on their agriculture income. We will bring the group a small donation and over a cup of traditional chai , tea, we can chat with the ladies, sharing experiences and ideas. Accommodation and dinner back on Sandai. Day 5 (4/6/11): Today we will rise early to go on Safari to the nearby Aberdares National Park. Whose thick forest, waterfalls and exquisite flora and fauna are reminiscent of scenes from the movie “out of Africa”.Unforgettable adventures await you in this unpredictable park. We carry a picnic which we will enjoy near the waterfalls. Dinner and accommodation back on Sandai. Day 6 (4/7/11): We will stay on the farm today and engulf ourselves in the preparation of Kenyan cuisine. With the help of our Kikuyu ladies you will be cooking two traditional dishes which you will later devour for Lunch. Dinner and accommodation on the Farm. Day 7 (4/8/11): After an early breakfast will we start our tour north, to the Samburu National Park. The great visual impact of transforming landscapes as the green makes way to the brown and dry dusty savannah and the people grow more colourfully adorned with traditional beads and cloth will be astounding. Before completely immersing ourselves in the landscape and wildlife of the Samburu National park we will break for Lunch in Isiolo. This is the last big town on the rough road leading to Ethiopia. In the afternoon we will be arriving at our accommodation at the elephant bedroom, a luxurious tented camp right at the river offering the full experience of being out in the wild. After an exquisite dinner and providing you still have the energy we will reflect on the day’s unforgettable impression over a drink at the camp bar.

Day 8 (4/9/11): At dawn we will be leaving the campsite for an early morning safari giving us the chance to spot animals that may not have shown themselves to us yet. We will be back at the camp for a late breakfast/ early lunch. In the afternoon we will then go on another safari capturing animals in a different light and will be back at the camp before dark where we will once more indulge ourselves in good food and exotic drinks.
Day 9 (4/10/11): Today we will begin with one last early safari through the park, then make our way to the Umoja Women’s group. These are very traditional Samburu women fighting the many inequalities they are faced with. They are happy to share their stories and will even allow you to take photographs as you wish. It is a heart breaking but at the same time impressive and uplifting experience. www.umojawomen.org As we head back to the Sandai Farm we will stop for lunch along the way, before concluding our exciting adventure with dinner and a restful sleep on Sandai.
Day 10 (4/11/11): Following a few action packed days today we will pamper ourselves by simply relaxing, reading, taking walks and breathing the crisp clean air. Possibly treating yourself to a foot reflexology massage or….Dinner and accommodation will be on Sandai. Day 11 (4/12/11): After all the days in a car we are going to visit the neighbouring Aberdare Country Club and it´s grounds. Again you will find a lot of different wildlife, but this time on foot. We will walk mainly between a herd of Giraffs and other animals. The animals are still very wild and their smell and the direct possibility of watching them, can be breath taking. This is such a lovely experience, since there is no metal between you and the animals. Here we will enjoy a delicious lunch at the Lodge! Dinner and accommodation on Sandai.
Day 12 (4/13/11): Today is our last day on Sandai. We will take it easy in the morning and in the afternoon enjoy a program that we had compiled the evening before. We wrap up a great time together with up an evening BBQ and celebrate the good times with some dancing.
Day 13 (4/14/11): Today it is fare well to Sandai and the team as we make our way to the Nakuru National Park famous for its flamingos. After a lunch at the Lion Hill Lodge in the park we will go on the lookout for more magnificent animals and will be guaranteed to see some flamingos and pelicans. Dinner and accommodation at the Lion Hill Lodge. Day 14 (4/15/11): After an early breakfast we will have one last safari through the park, before making our way to Naivasha where we have lunch at Joy Adamsons former residence Elsamere, where Joy’s presence can still strongly be felt. And if the charming location has not already captivated you, a film depicting her extraordinary life will. We end the day with a splendid dinner and a night in the house. Day 15 (4/16/11): After an early breakfast we will make our way to Nairobi’s Karen Blixen Museum. We will have lunch at the Karen Coffee Garden followed by a visit to the Karzuri beadsfactory and shop www.kazuri.com. Here you will not be able to resist buying the beautifully handmade ceramic beads crafted by single mothers to support their livelihood. Following these activities we will gradually make our way to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you will sadly have to commence your journey back to your home country.
